I was 1 of only 2 fatherless kids in my catholic grade school - the other due to (whisper) divorce. It's always been a weird day for me. My mother never spoke of him, "sparing my 2 sisters & I her sorrow", but also creating a ghost among us. That ghost visited me when I was 11, and I finally started processing my grief. I do think of him on father's day, as an absence, still with some longing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
