And, I was so very happy to be a recipient of such a Valentine Gift- I was very surprised and very happy! and then, I'm NOT kidding, I left it by Jimi's lunch tray; what was I thinking? Well, I was thinking, I can't eat the candies, and she can and I didn't get her anything for Valentine's cause, she doesn't know it is Valentine's - oh, sure I gave her one of my traditional teeny hearts I love to make and give out; but I didn't get her a special card or anything this year, for some reason; and there was this lovely box of chocolates. So, later when I got home, she told me, in her way, that she and the, forgive me, DOGS had shared her box. BUt, I don't know for sure.

I love the story of your Dad; and it's so sweet. and I love that the girl always gets a box, too, to this day. That's as it should be.olga krusehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02777919849418911040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1504159935075650335.post-87681652360258419102011-02-15T14:37:30.461-05:002011-02-15T14:37:30.461-05:00Beautifully done, BN! That tradition taught me that MEN give Valen...Yeah. That tradition taught me that MEN give Valentines to women, but not the other way 'round. Having my own boyfriend cured me of that! I have a sneaking suspicion that Dad didn't get ANY chocolate. Remember when he would do the grocery shopping and bring home a bag of 10 plain Hershey bars (never got chocolate when Mom shopped)? Usually about Wednesday, I'd decide to sneak one of the 3 extras. So up to the cupboard where the gum was kept. And there was NEVER a single bar left!! After we had all left home, Mom confessed ~ she always ate the "extra" candy bars.
beth annAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
